A long-awaited children's attraction has announced its opening date.

Windsor Great Park Adventure Play has wowed parents since its original unveiling back in March.

It has been a long wait to find out when the Harry Potter-esq playground will open, with families becoming frustrated as we near the school summer holidays.

However, the wait is now over.

A Windsor Great Park spokesperson said: "Opening Tuesday, July 11 tickets for Adventure Play in Windsor Great Park are now on sale.

"Discover this fascinating world of walkways, slides, sculptures and treehouses."

Families will now be able to explore a "fascinating world" of giant acorns, treehouses and suspended walkways in the play park set over 1.2 acres.

Adventure Play offers obstacles and activities tiered for children of different abilities and confidence, with one fully accessible route.

The circulation throughout the play areas has wide and level footpaths alongside frequent passing and rest points, making it wheelchair accessible and suitable for assistance dogs.

Tickets for the attraction have been revealed, charged at £16 for a child aged two to 15 and £12 for adults over 16 years old.

Infants under two and carers are free to enter.

This means that a typical family of four, including two adults and two children over the age of two, can expect to pay £56.

Each play session lasts two hours and is a separately-ticketed visitor attraction. This means visitors of Adventure Play will not have access to Savill Garden.

Tickets must be booked in advance to visiting and car parking is free with the purchase of an entry ticket.

Paul Sedgwick, Deputy Ranger of Windsor Great Park, said: “We’re excited to be opening our new Adventure Play experience.

"This is play at its best – bringing children and families closer to nature, providing a multi-sensory experience and designed to help children test their comfort zones in a safe and fun way.

"Built with sustainably sourced wood from the Estate, the playground captures the magic of our wonderful Windsor Great Park, and we hope will win the hearts of new and existing visitors alike.”

Adventure Great Park will soon be launching SEND sessions which will be available to book later in the month.
