FOUR litterbugs across Slough have been fined recently for throwing cigarettes on the floor.

The incidents happened across London between the end of 2022 and the start of this year.

They were charged with one count of throwing down/leaving/otherwise depositing litter, of The Environmental Protection Act 1990, and all appeared in lower courts this month.

Usually offenders are caught by street environment officers, police officers, or police community support officers and they can be issued with a fixed penalty notice.

Most recently was Catalin Jora, 55, of Ledgers Road in Slough. She was caught throwing a cigarette on the ground in Fore Street, Edmonton Green on February 16 this year.

She was found guilty at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court of throwing the litter on the floor near a bus stop on July 10 and was fined £220 for the incident.

Jora was also ordered to pay £332 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £88. The total fine was £640 to be paid by August.

Secondly, Sandy Tony, 54, of Dawley Ride in Slough, was also caught disposing of a cigarette on the ground.

She was caught doing it in High Street, Central Hounslow on September 24 last year near Shree Krishna Vada Pav, a takeaway store.

At Ealing Magistrates Court on July 10, she was found guilty and fined £220. She was also ordered to pay £125 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £30.

The total fine for Tony was £375 to be paid this month.

Thirdly, Doqi Trojani, 34, of Whitby Road in Slough, was caught on October 6 last year throwing a cigarette on the floor outside the store TX Maxx in High Street, Hounslow.

At Ealing Magistrates Court on July 10, he was found guilty and fined £220. There was also court costs of £125 and a victim surcharge of £30.

The total fine for Trojani was £375.

Lastly, Hoosein Umali, 49, of St.Thomas Walk, Slough, was caught on January 6 this year throwing a cigarette on the floor in The Green Southall.

Umali was caught dropping the litter on the floor opposite the business opposite A to Z finance 4U LTD.

He was found guilty at Ealing Magistrates Court on July 10 and fined £220. There was also court costs of £125 and a victim surcharge of £30.

The total fine was £375 to be paid by this month.
