A big chain restaurant is set to come to town.
Nando's, a fast-casual chain specialising in Portuguese flame-grilled peri-peri style chicken, has confirmed plans to open in Maidenhead.
Until this point, the popular chain has not shown interest in opening in the town, with the closest restaurants being found in Windsor and Slough.
However, recently rumours have circulated online following a spate of empty units becoming available at both Taplow's Bishop Centre and along King Street in Maidenhead.
A Nando's spokesperson said: "The rumours are true - we are planning on bringing our famous Peri-Peri flavour and good vibes to Maidenhead.
"We are still in the very early stages of planning for the new restaurant, so watch this space, but we would love to talk to any charities or community groups interested in teaming up with our No Chuckin' Our Chicken food donation and employer initiatives."
It is not yet known where or when the new store will open.
Nando's have been contacted for further information.
