A three-year-old girl has sustained a serious head injury after being involved in a crash with a white BMW X5.

The incident occurred at around 6 pm on Wednesday, August 23 at the junction of Barry Avenue and Goswell Road.

After emergency services arrived at the scene, immediate first aid was provided to the child who was then airlifted to St Georges Hospital in London.

She remains in hospital and is in a serious but stable condition.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Justin Thomas, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I am appealing to anybody who was in the vicinity at the time and may have witnessed the collision to please get in touch.

“All persons and vehicles involved remained at the scene and the child’s family were also present at the time of the collision.
