FROM unprovoked attacks to 50 arrests made at an annual music festival, here is the Berkshire crime round-up from this week:

A DRUG dealer has been jailed for 36 months after being caught with about £1,000 in street value of Class A drugs.

Derek Sarfo was caught on April 27 with cocaine and heroin and was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply after an address was searched by police.

The 24-year-old was also caught in breach of a suspended sentence he received for previous drug offences.

Judge Kirsty Real sentenced him at Reading Crown Court on Thursday (August 31).

ALMOST 50 arrests were made by police over the course of Reading Festival this year.

The annual music event, which took place from Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 26, saw over 100,000 festivalgoers.

Headliners Sam Fender, The Killers and Billie Eilish performed across the weekend including other acts such as Don Broco, Inhaler, Nothing But Thieves, Muna, Central Cee, Imagine Dragons and many, many more.

A heavy police presence could be seen at the event and across the town on foot, bike, horses and on the River Thames. A total of 48 arrests were made across the weekend.

TWO women who were followed home after Reading Festival have described the incident as being like a ‘horror film’.

A-20-year-old student, and her 19-year-old friend, were walking home from Maidenhead Train Station on Friday (August 25) after spending the day at the music event on Richfield Avenue.

However, they noticed two men were looking at them while they were walking in High Street before one of the men started to follow them.

“It was a shock really,” said said. “My friend turned around and saw him running towards us so we started running away.

“It was like a horror film, seeing them standing there at the top of the pavement in the dark.”

A WOMAN was hospitalised after been hit with a glass in an ‘unprovoked attack’ outside a pub in Maidenhead.

The incident happened outside The Bear in High Street at about 10pm on Tuesday (August 29).

A woman in her forties was hit in the face with a glass before being pushed to the floor. The offender then pulled her hair, ripping some of it out, before walking away.

The victim suffered a large cut to her lip and cheek and was taken to Wexham Park Hospital for treatment. She has since been discharged.
