Plans have been unveiled for Slough's Christmas light switch-on and celebrations.

Slough BID has partnered with Asian Star Radio for the Christmas light switch on 2023, following the success of last year's community event.

Set to take place on Friday, November 17, members of the public are encouraged to come along from 2pm till 5:45pm.

The event promises to be a "magical evening" continuing the annual tradition, which is free to all and takes place outside the former Empire Cinema.

Slough’s dignitaries and guests in attendance will help turn the Christmas lights on, which will be accompanied by festive Entertainment, including a school choir, Polish dancing, carol singing and performances by a headline act to be confirmed.

A selection of market food stalls will also be on offer and those wishing to dress up are in for a chance of winning a prize.

One lucky member of the community - a 'local hero' - will help turn the lights on. Nominations can be sent to info@sloughbid.co.uk.

Asian Star Radio’s Managing Director Ray C who is also one of the Directors at Slough BID said: “I am delighted to be a part of the town's Christmas Lights Switch on event once again, a town where Asian Star Radio broadcasts to as well as the fact I am a proud born bred citizen of Slough, and organising an event of this calibre is certainly a way of giving back to a town that has given me so much over the years.

"Our aims and objectives are to promote Slough in a positive way for local businesses to thrive in and to get local people back shopping in the High Street”
