A leading sports footwear retailer has outlined its plans to open on Slough High Street.

Foot Locker has submitted its plans to Slough Borough Council to open in the old Clarks Factory Shop next to Greggs.

Foot Locker currently has a shop in the Queensmere Shopping Centre, a few doors down from the likes of Kayani Camp and Ernest Jones.

A spokesperson from Foot Locker said: “Our existing Slough store will be closing in anticipation of the upcoming closure of Queensmere Shopping Centre.

“However, we will be opening a brand-new store on the High Street and look forward to welcoming our customers in early 2024.”

Other retailers have already vacated the shopping centre, with Iceland having closed its unit in Queensmere for a new space on the High Street in June.

There is currently uncertainty surrounding the future of Queesmere and Observatory Shopping Centres, as the western side of Queensmere was shut in January to make way for a new development which would see the shopping complex knocked down in phases to make way for a mixed use space.

Following the closure, many businesses have been impacted by a decline in footfall.

British Land, acting on behalf of developer ADIA has failed to issue an update on the shopping centre development since August.
