A Slough business owner has shared her delight at being named as a finalist in the National Business Women's Awards 2023.

In a glamourous award ceremony at Hilton Hotel, Wembley on Wednesday, November 15, Nikita Thakrar was named amongst the best businesses for her company DNC.

The awards recognise female entrepreneurs from all over the UK who are making a significant contribution within their industry.

Nikita formed DNC in 2005 and launched the DNC studio in Slough, Berkshire in 2011.

They now have over 100 students on a weekly basis learning Classical Indian Kathak dance and Yoga.

The studio is also used by other teachers and practitioners who run workshops and retreats.

DNC dance and yoga studio was shortlisted for the 'Service Excellence' award, based on their five star reviews, customer satisfaction and consistent contribution to the fields of dance and yoga.

Their students range from the age of four to 74 and Nikita says they often refer to the studio as "home away from home".

Earlier this year DNC won 'Dance school of the year' by Prestige Awards and were also nominated for 'Yoga studio of the year' and ‘Yoga teacher of the year’ by Om Yoga Awards.

Nikita said: "I would like to sincerely thank all of our students, parents and clients for their unwavering loyalty and dedication towards the studio, as well as our incredible team of staff and teachers."
