Increases in planning application fees come into effect as of today (November 6).
Developers looking to build new homes or residents looking to make alterations or extensions to their property will now face higher fees when applying.
The changes come after legislation was amended to increase planning application fees, with December 6 marked as the date for implementation.
The Planning Portal fee schedule outlines the increase in the fees themselves.
For example, anyone looking to submit a full planning application to extend their single home will face an increased charge of £258 – up from £206.
To find out more about the incoming changes and for the full list of new fees for planning applications, visit the Planning Portal website.
Its blog reads: “Legislative amendments to increase planning application fees in England have now been formally “made” and will take effect on 6 December 2023.”
