A Slough supermarket was hit by burglars on Christmas day, who rammed their car into the stores entrance.

On Monday, December 25, opportunist criminals targeted the BP garage on Horton Road, near Colnbrook High Street causing "significant damage".

The attempted burglary was unsuccessful and the group later targeted the Red Lion Supermarket on Colnbrook High Street.

Just before 6am, offenders used a grey Vauxhall Safira to ram the frontage to the premises, causing several thousand pounds worth of damage.

Nothing was stolen and the group made off on foot.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the two incidents which have been linked.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Anybody with any information, or who believe that they witnessed this incident is urged to contact Thames Valley Police via the force website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43230575616.

"Nobody has been arrested in connection with this incident."
