A MAN has been found guilty of framing another man for sexually assaulting him in an alleyway near the Slough Jobcentre.

It took a jury two hours this afternoon (February 13) to convict Ranjit Singh on one count of perverting the course of justice.

The 42-year-old, of no fixed abode, called police in February 2021, telling them he had been sexually assaulted by another man.

The alleged assailant was arrested, and spent a night in jail.

CCTV evidence subsequently cleared the man, as there was no evidence he had been in the alleyway that night.

Singh later changed his story, stating he had been assaulted at a different location - and that the same man had also abused him a year before.

However, the trial heard that Singh had a history of making false allegations to the police.

These included claims that a man and a woman had pulled a gun on him, and that he had been threatened with a knife at a B&B.

Multiple arrests were made, only for Singh to retract the allegations at police interview.

A sentencing date has been set for February 28.
