A thief has made off with cash and a cardboard box full of cigarettes from a shop on the Wexham Road.

At around midday on Friday, February 23, a man entered a business premises on Wexham Road and jumped over the counter to access the till area. The offender stole an amount of cash and cigarettes from the till.

The offender was challenged by a member of staff, who he pushed and pinned down so they could not stop him. He ran out of the store holding a cardboard box full of cigarettes.

The victim sustained a cut to their hand, but did not require hospital treatment.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses of the robbery and attack.

The offender is described as a black man, around 5ft 2ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a nude-coloured tracksuit, trainers and gloves. He also wore a silky black snood that covered the bottom half of his face.

A police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident or who has dash-cam or phone footage from the area around the time that it happened or saw the direction in which the offender went, to please get in touch.

"Anyone with information about what happened can also make a report by calling 101 or via the website, quoting reference 43240086195.
