A trespasser was arrested in Windsor Castle's gardens last week - reportedly while King Charles III was in residence there.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a man was detained while wandering around the castle grounds.
They said: "Officers arrested a man on suspicion of trespass in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
"The 39-year-old was stopped at around 22:20 hours on Tuesday (February 20).
"He was taken into custody before being detained under the Mental Health Act."
Buckingham Palace did not respond to a request for a comment - but an anonymous source revealed that the incident occurred while the king was nearby.
The source stated: "There was a breach at Windsor Castle. A man was found wandering around the King's private garden.
"He was arrested. The whole thing happened whilst the king was in residence."
