RSPCA Sussex: 5 pets who are looking for new homes

Whether you want to adopt a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, there is plenty of choice.

A few animals from the branch are listed below but more can be found on the centre's website.

Randall

Gender - Male

Age - 12 years old

Breed - Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Colour - White and Black

Randall came into the care of the RSPCA via an Inspector along with two other dogs, as his owner had passed away.

When he arrived he had a very painful glaucoma in his left eye which had to be removed on welfare grounds.

He is still on eye drops in his right eye and will need to stay on these in his new home.

In his current foster home Randall is doing well with housetraining, enjoying walks and is always up for a belly rub.

Although Randall has lived with other dogs the centre feels he would prefer to be the only dog in his new home.

Eddie

Gender - Male

Age - Three years old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Black and White

Eddie came to the RSPCA after he was surrendered by his owners as they could no longer look after him.

He is described as a "friendly boy who enjoys some fuss and attention on his terms".

Eddie is very active and likes to be kept busy with toys, and can also be quite keen to jump on people's backs.

He would prefer to be the only cat in a new home and will need a secure garden he can access.

Maverick

Gender - Male

Age - Six to 12 months old

Breed - Dutch

Colour - Black and White

Maverick is described as a "reserved lad who keeps himself to himself" who came into the centre as his owner had too many rabbits.

He enjoys his toys and can often be found moving them around his pen.

The RSPCA adds: "Maverick is looking for a spayed & vaccinated female rabbit to keep him company. He has only recently been neutered so is still getting there in terms of using his trays, but in time he is getting cleaner."

Aubin and Alaska

Gender - Male (Aubin) and Female (Alaska)

Age - One year old 

Breed - Lionhead crossbreed (Aubin) and Harlequin (Alaska)

Colour - White (Aubin) and Grey (Alaska)

Aubin and Alaska came to the Sussex North & Brighton branch after being born in foster care.

Both of them are not too keen on being picked up as they tend to wriggle and are on a diet at the moment as they are a little overweight.

They are looking to find a home together and will need a large setup, shed or wendy house with a run attached.

The RSPCA adds: "They could potentially live indoors but they aren’t fully clean yet. However, with a bit of patience and perseverance, they could be clean enough to live inside, as they get cleaner everyday."
