Emergency services responded to reports of a body in Bray Marina over the weekend.

At around 1pm on Sunday, April 21, Thames Valley Police officers were called to the marina where the body of a man was found.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Services aided the police in recovering the body.

Local Policing Area Commander for Windsor and Maidenhead, Superintendent Clare Knibbs, said: “Sadly we have recovered a body from the River Thames, with the help of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue.

“From our initial enquiries, we are confident that the man is missing person Jonathan, aged 65, who went missing from the Windsor area on March 18 this year.

“His next of kin have been informed and we are providing support to them at this difficult time.

“Our thoughts remain with them.

“At this time there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

“We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal and came forward with information in our search to find Jonathan.”

Just one day before the emergency services found Jonathan, another man, Daniel, aged 29,  was found up upstream in Sonning on Saturday, April 20.
