A lightning strike set a home on fire amid a yellow weather warning.
On Wednesday, May 1, the Met Office warned of thunderstorms and heavy rain sweeping across the country into the night and early morning.
As the bad weather picked up, the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Eton Wick Road in Eton at 5:31am (May 2) to reports of a fire.
Firefighters from Slough and Langley fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an aerial ladder platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Upon arrival, crews discovered a loft fire caused by a lightning strike. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
"Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 55 minutes."
