Drivers will be forced to deal with a variety of delays this week across Berkshire due to carriageway closures and road works.

Either lane closures or traffic management at these specific road works will cause up to 30 minutes delay on normal travel time.

Commuters have been warned to check for upcoming and present road works that may affect their journey this week.

Here are the road works across Berkshire taking place this week:

Reading

• M4, from 8pm May 2 to 6am May 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 10 to junction 12, carriageway closure for major improvement work.

• M4, from 8pm April 27 to 6am May 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 11 to junction 12, carriageway closure for structures maintenance.

• M4, from 8pm April 15 to 6am July 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 11 to junction 12, carriageway, services and lane closures for structures work.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

• M4, from 8pm May 10 to 6am May 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 10, carriageway closure for major improvement work.

Bath Road just off Hogarth Avenue near Pet’s Corner where road works are taking place and causing a degree of heavier traffic.

The traffic management in place includes the multi-way traffic lights and signals.

These works are being undertaken by Scottish and Southern Power Distribution. They started on March 11 and are expected to end on April 26 at 5pm.

Bracknell

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure is due to start over the next two weeks:

• M4, from 8pm May 14 to 6am May 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 10 to junction 8/9, Lane closures for resurfacing work.

Slough

• M4, from 8pm May 13 to 6am May 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 5, slip road and lane closures for barrier repairs.

• M4, from 8pm May 18 to 10am May 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 5, carriageway closure between exit and entry slip roads for joint works, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M4, from 8pm May 20 to 6am June 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 5, Lane closures for construction work.

• M4, from 10pm May 20 to 6am June 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 5 exit slip road, Lane closure for structure works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
