Engineering works have been announced across Berkshire over the next two weeks which will affect customers travelling in and out of the county.

These works will affect different areas across the network from trains departing from London Waterloo on Sunday, May 26 and Sunday, June 2.

On Sunday, May 26, London Waterloo SouthWestern Rail trains travelling to Windsor will be diverted after Twickenham and terminate at Hounslow.

Replacement buses will run between Hounslow and Windsor via Staines.

On Sunday, June 2, maintenance works will take place on the lines in the Wokingham area of Berkshire. This means that the London Waterloo to Reading South Western Railway service will terminate at Ascot.

Replacement buses will be available to take travellers from Ascot to Reading during the one-day line closure.

Great Western Railway trains between Wokingham and Reading will also be cancelled all day on June 2 due to maintenance.

A spokesperson from SouthWestern Railways said: “We and our partners at Network Rail are always working hard to maintain and improve the rail network. We try to keep disruption to a minimum by carrying out engineering works at the weekend or over holiday periods where we can, but this isn’t always possible.

“If we need to close train lines for engineering works, we’ll provide buses to replace the affected trains. We will need to alter train services over a wider area, for example to connect with buses, so you should always check whether your journey will be affected.”
