A person has sadly been pronounced dead after being hit by a train in Maidenhead this afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to Maidenhead Station around 12:20 pm today (10/6) where a casualty was reported on the tracks.

National Rail alerted passengers travelling from Reading to London Paddington that the line between the two main stations would be blocked this afternoon.

A spokesperson from the British Transport Police said: “Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
