Plans to build 225 new homes south of Maidenhead are in the works, according to information submitted to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council.
Developers Taylor Wimpey are drawing up plans for the new estate on a patch of land south of Harvest Hill Road, in between the A404 and A308.
Full plans are still being drawn up. But a description by the Savills estate agents say the new estate would be a mixture of four-storey blocks of flats and two and three storey homes. It would be accessed by an entrance off Kimber’s Lane.
Plans also suggest there would be a park on the site, closest to the A308. They say there’s no The description says this ‘reduces the potential for noise impacts from the A308 upon the new dwellings’.
Savills says the land is included in an area earmarked by the council for around 2,600 homes in its 15-year plan for development in the borough.
It is close to other approved developments, including one for 114 homes just to the east of the site and 214 homes north, on the opposite side of Kimber’s Lane.
Taylor Wimpey has not yet submitted a planning application for the development. But it has asked the council to confirm whether it would need to submit an environmental impact assessment when it makes its formal application.
