Slough Residents of a block of flats which caught fire in the early hours of Thursday morning are being supported by local authorities during investigations.
The fire broke out on the top floor of the Mosaic Apartments at 26 High Street around 12am on Thursday, August 21.
Emergency services rushed to the scene as all tenants were evacuated from the building and the fire was soon extinguished.
Slough Borough Council and Thames Valley Police are now conducting investigations into the fire.
An update has been released by the local authorities after declaring a ‘major incident’.
A spokesperson from Slough Borough Council said: “16 households continue to be cared for by Slough Borough Council – including housing, children’s services and adult social care – directly and will continue to be so over the long weekend.
“Other tenants of the block have now made their own arrangements or arrangements are being made by the management agents for the flats.
“Tenants with properties within the affected block but not fire damaged are being escorted into and out of their premises to collect essentials.”
As investigations into the cause of the fire take place, there will be an ongoing police and fire service presence on site to make sure that the building is safe.
The High Street, including the road and pavement, in front of the building will remain closed to maintain safety.
Some debris has been dislodged by high winds over the weekend following the incident.
