The body of a missing man has been discovered in the River Thames following a major search and rescue mission by Thames Valley Police.
Officers were called to the Wraysbury/Staines area on Monday, September 9 at around 2:30pm following reports of a body in the water.
Although formal identification has not taken place yet, the body is thought to be that of 50-year-old Ruslanas Zaicovas.
Ruslanas went missing from the Wraysbury area on Monday, August 26.
Detective Inspector Liam Butler, based at Maidenhead police station, said: “Sadly, we have discovered the body of a man, who we believe to be Ruslanas.
“Ruslanas’ family have been informed and are being supported by officers. Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
“The death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained, but not suspicious and we are continuing to make enquiries.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
