A man has been jailed for burglary and theft in Windsor and told that he must not enter any hotel in Berkshire without supervision.
David McManus, aged 51, of Talbot Place, Datchet was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison at Slough Magistrates Court on Tuesday September 10.
He was found guilty of burglary other than dwelling and theft on the same day, at the same court.
McManus was also given a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Under the conditions of the CBO, he must not:
Enter any hotel in Berkshire without supervision, must not remain on any hospitality premises or shop if asked to leave by any member of staff or owner.
Enter any school or place of education, including the grounds, playing fields and changing rooms.
Enter any staff area or place out of bounds to the public within any hotel, public house or other hospitality venue.
Between 5.25pm and 5.30pm on Saturday June 15 this year, McManus stole £70 in cash from the purse of a woman working in a hotel in Windsor.
Detective Sergeant Chris Quinlan said: “I hope that this conviction and sentencing sends the message to offenders such as McManus that we remain committed to tackling theft.
“This behaviour is not acceptable and we will investigate and bring you before the courts to face justice.”
