The mayor of Windsor has once again been out and about in the local community attending crucial events celebrating important occasions in our town.
One such event was when Councillor Simon Bond visited St Piran's in Maidenhead for an unveiling of a very special kind of memorial celebrating those who fought for this country.
The mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead attended the event where two plaques were unveiled for two previous students who died in the Battle of Britain.
Councillor Simon Bond posted a photograph of the event along with these words to commemorate such a special occasion:
"St Piran’s, Maidenhead for unveiling of plaque to two previous pupils who took part in the Battle of Britain and died in the War, tributes were given by nephews of each (also former pupils), with Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire and an RAF Flying Officer."
