Tributes have been paid to an elderly man who was murdered last month, a case which has subsequently seen two teenagers arrested.
Police recently confirmed the man's identity as Giovanni Cecaro, aged 82 and from Slough, who sadly died five days after he was assaulted in Stoke Road on Tuesday, September 24.
His next of kin are being supported by specially trained family liaison officer, according to a spokesperson from Thames Valley Police.
Since news of Mr Cecaro's death broke out on social media, people from across Slough have been paying tribute to the elderly man.
One person said "Oh no, this is horrendous! Poor man! So sorry to see this shocking incident and loss of life."
Another person responded "That is so sad, RIP, prayers to his family," with a further person saying "So sad."
A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Slough, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They have both been released on bail.
Detective Inspector Nick Hind, of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“We believe that this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.
“If you witnessed the incident, have information about what happened, or may have CCTV or dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or make a report via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting reference 43240460762.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.”
This comes as other incidents of violence have recently taken place in the town, with one man being charged with murder following a stabbing incident.
Frederick Mutala, aged 23 from Slough, died following the incident in Rochfords Gardens, police have confirmed. Read more here.
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said: "We continue to support his family at this difficult time and our thoughts are with them."
Khalil Muhammad, aged 26, of no fixed abode has been charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug class B cannabis.
He has also been charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance
