A one-man play about the Windrush scandal is set to take the stage.
The drama, The Windrush Secret, will be performed at the Curve Venue in Slough on Saturday, October 26, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced at £16, with a concession price of £14.
Written, performed, and directed by Rodreguez King-Dorset, the story is set in 2018 and follows a young white far-right racist party leader, a black Caribbean diplomat, and a white Oxford-educated Home Office government official.
The three characters deliver speeches about the one million people who migrated from the Caribbean to Britain between 1948 and 1973, known as the Windrush Generation, and the related British political scandal that surfaced in 2018.
During one of the speeches, a character grapples with a dark secret that will change his life forever.
Rodreguez King-Dorset, who trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and as a dancer at the Ballet Rambert School, is also known for Vagabond (2006), What’s My Name (2003), and Beard of Justice (1996).
The play contains potentially offensive language and is suitable for audiences aged 16 and above.
Tickets can be purchased from the Box Office at 01753 303035 or online.
The event is programmed by Norden Farm Centre for the Arts as part of a partnership with Slough Borough Council to develop the Curve Venue as a key cultural community hub for Slough.
The event is supported by public funding from Arts Council England.
