Young filmmakers have produced their own films at Pinewood Studios.

For the 13th consecutive year, Resource Productions CIC, based in Berkshire, delivered a successful BFI Film Academy short course to 16 aspiring filmmakers.

These budding filmmakers, aged between 16 and 19, were given the chance to learn about the entire filmmaking process at the UK's most iconic film studios, Pinewood Studios.

The course, aimed at inspiring the next generation of filmmakers, consisted of six weekly workshops covering everything from development to post-production and distribution.

The young participants were also working towards their NCFE (Northern Council for Further Education) Level 2 Award in Preparing to Work in the Film Industry qualification.

The course allowed the cohort to gain and develop the commercial and cultural knowledge and skills needed to build a career in the industry.

On February 1, the young filmmakers and producers were invited to the John Barry Theatre at Pinewood Studios for a celebratory graduation ceremony and a screening of their short films.

Family, friends, and Resource Productions alumni attended the event, where they received their BFI certificates.

They will also be awarded their NCFE Level 2 Award in Preparing to Work in the Film Industry qualification.

Siobhan Hardy, training and development manager, said: "This opportunity connects local talent with the Pinewood Studios Group, regional partners, and is a fantastic experience for all involved.

"Resource Productions is thrilled to be selected once more as one of BFI's regional delivery partners for the southeast region.

"This was our 13th year of collaborating with Pinewood Studios Group to run the academy, and we delivered an excellent programme of training and masterclasses with industry professionals to support the students in their journeys into the film and creative industries."

Resource Productions began in 1999 with a small community project, "Active Archive," which brought together young filmmakers and museum volunteers in Slough to learn digital skills and share their stories of Slough.

Now, 25 years later, they continue to support and inspire young creatives.

They recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with a special 'Moving Image Mela' at The Curve, showcasing local talent with digital art, moving images, and live performances.

Resource Productions invites young people aged 11-19, or up to 25 with access needs, to join their Media Monday and Script Saturday sessions.

They also encourage people to share their ideas for what other creative clubs and activities should be happening in the local community by joining their Young People’s Steering Group.
