A double bill of comedy is set to take place at the Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead.
Rob Auton and Joe Kent-Walters are warming up for the Edinburgh Festival with their performances.
Rob Auton, hailed for his unique comedic style, has written seven five-star rated Edinburgh Fringe shows, including The Yellow Show, The Sky Show, The Face Show, The Water Show, The Sleep Show, The Hair Show, The Talk Show, and The Time Show.
The latter two garnered significant acclaim, with one being the second-best reviewed show at the Edinburgh Festival in 2018, and the other being one of the best reviewed in 2019.
Auton's creativity extends beyond the stage.
He has had three collections of writing and illustrations published by Burning Eye Books, and his poetry has been turned into short films shown on Channel 4.
His versatility is further showcased through his television acting roles.
He made his debut as a corduroy jacket-wearing poet in ITV’s Cold Feet in 2018.
Since then, he has appeared in series 2 of The End of The Fing World and Miracle Workers.
Rob Auton is also the creator of The Rob Auton Daily Podcast, which bagged The Best Daily Podcast Award at the 2020 British Podcast Awards.
Joe Kent-Walters, a multi-award-winning comedian and actor from Huddersfield, is known for his outrageous character comedy, particularly his creation, Frankie Monroe.
His performance as Frankie earned him the 2023 BBC New Comedy Award after a standout set at Glasgow’s Kings Theatre.
Joe is currently in development with the BBC and Hat Trick Productions.
His debut solo show Frankie Monroe: LIVE!!! has played to sell-out crowds at prestigious comedy festivals, including Machynlleth, Hastings, Glasgow, and Leicester, where it won the Best Show award.
Frankie Monroe: LIVE!!! also bagged the Keep It Fringe bursary and will be performed at The Monkey Barrel throughout this year’s Edinburgh Festival.
Before his BBC success, Joe won the 2021 Chortle Student Comedy Award, which led to him performing on the main comedy stage at Latitude Festival and touring Australia, including a performance at the Sydney Comedy Store.
Joe’s double act The Lovely Boys has also made waves in the UK alternative scene.
Their debut 2022 show received critical acclaim and cult status, and the pair now run a regular ‘& friends’ gig at Hackney’s Moth Club with Knock2Bag.
The night of comedy is set to take place on Saturday, June 8 at 8pm.
Tickets are priced at £12.
