Camera crews and A-listers are expected to be spotted around Berkshire this month as the filming of a Hollywood Blockbuster takes place.
The film company, For All Time, set up by Marvel in 2023 has chosen Windsor Great Park as one of their locations for their latest upcoming super hero film – Avengers: Doomsday.
According to councillors in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, they have approved filming at Duke’s Lane Park, part of Windsor Great Park.
Although filming is only expected to last for four days the Marvel production company applied for planning permission for a temporary film set for a period of six months at Duke's Lane Park.
This is to make way for the construction and demolition of the film set.
Nick Day from the Crown Estate, said this could be the biggest film production in the UK this year.
During the vote to approve the plans, he said: “The borough could play a small role in helping to support this important creative industry.”
The set will include a 1960’s style house called the Luke Cage House – named after the superhero of the same name.
Plans have said that there may also be a spaceship on set in the middle of Windsor Great Park.
When approving the filming, councillors showed their enthusiasm saying that it ‘would help Windsor and Maidenhead grow as a key filming location in the ‘west London cluster’.
Berkshire is already a popular location for the filming of hit films and TV shows.
To lessen the negative environmental impact on the surrounding wildlife and trees, the set will stay clear of protected trees and buffer zones within the park.
The Windsor and Maidenhead borough council have said that they hope that this will bring more jobs and filming to the area.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be the fifth instalment in the Avengers film series, directed by Anthony Russo and Jo Russo.
