A RETIREMENT community in Windsor has joined a nationwide campaign aimed at changing perceptions of later life.

Castle View in Windsor is supporting the Generation Joy campaign, launched by the Associated Retirement Community Operators (ARCO) in partnership with Hearst UK, the publisher behind Good Housekeeping, Prima and Red.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of Integrated Retirement Communities (IRCs) and promote a more positive view of life in later years.

Karl Hallows, managing director of Castle View, said: "We’re thrilled to be part of this ground breaking initiative.

"It’s a chance to show how communities like ours offer a better way of living in later life, with independence, friendship and support all under one roof."

The campaign is the first of its kind to unite the IRC sector nationally.

It will use video stories, editorial features and digital outreach to engage audiences across the UK.

Castle View describes itself as a 'new generation retirement community' focused on living rather than retirement.

Located on Helston Lane, it offers 64 modern apartments for people aged 65 and over.

Each resident lives independently with access to onsite care, amenities and a social calendar designed to support wellbeing and community connection.

Michael Voges, executive director at ARCO, said: "This campaign is about shifting the focus from ageing to thriving.

"People deserve to know about these positive lifestyle options as they plan for the future."

The Generation Joy campaign aims to show that later life can be vibrant, connected and full of opportunity.

By highlighting the benefits of IRCs, the campaign hopes to encourage more people to consider them as a positive choice for their future.

Castle View’s participation in the campaign reflects a growing movement to reframe later life as a time of enjoyment, independence and opportunity.
