A stand-up comedian will share stories from her early years as a comic during a show in Maidenhead next month.

Shaparak Khorsandi will perform at the Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday, September 11, at 8pm.

The show, titled Shaparak Khorsandi: Scatterbrain, will delve into her life and career, reflecting on her early years as a comic and her experiences as a woman-about-town.

Last year, Ms Khorsandi reassessed her life through the prism of an ADHD diagnosis in her memoir.

The comedian, author, speaker, and advocate for human rights has established herself as a staple of the British comedy scene, with a career that has taken her around the globe.

She has featured on popular TV and Radio shows like Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here, Mock The Week, and her own show, Shappi Talk.

She is also a keynote speaker, handling serious subjects with a sprinkling of humour, often on topics surrounding diversity and inclusion and mental health.

Her sell-out Edinburgh show, Asylum Speaker, explored her own experiences.

Born in Iran, she is the daughter of Iranian political satirist and poet, Hadi Khorsandi.

Her family left Iran for the UK following the 1979 revolution, and she frequently references her Iranian heritage and reactions to it in her stand-up.

Tickets for Shaparak Khorsandi: Scatterbrain are priced at £19.50.
