A proposal made to Slough Borough Council, with a consultation sent to Bucks Council, describes a two-storey aseptic suite including a new plant, isolation rooms, changing rooms, offices and staff facilities.
The hospital, which is part of the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, has a 24-hour Accident and Emergency department, Intensive Care and High Dependency Units, maternity and neonatal services, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, and diagnostic imaging.
It recently received an 'outstanding' rating from the Care Quality Commission.

Plans state: "This development is part of the Trust's broader strategy to modernise and future-proof essential clinical services, thereby supporting the hospital’s long-term operational resilience."
It would be used for the production of chemotherapy and antibody treatment and is described in plans as a 'dedicated Aseptic Pharmacy'.
The new building would be enclosed by existing hospital buildings.
If approved, it will be on a 'currently grassy area'.
The proposal said: "Eight Versa (ecological consultants) advised that 500sqm shrubs and 2 trees or 250sqm shrubs and six trees, will be needed.
"This is to meet the Biodiversity Net Gain offset for the grassed area that will be lost to the development.
"The site where the plant compound and new bin store are to be placed would mean that existing trees would be lost, and the hillock/knoll on which they sit would also have to be removed."
On September 11, a consultation on the application from Slough Borough Council opened for 21 days on the Bucks Council planning portal.
