Two National Theatre Live productions will be screened at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead this autumn.
The first play, "Mrs Warren’s Profession," stars five-time Olivier Award winner Imelda Staunton, known for her role in "The Crown," alongside her real-life daughter Bessie Carter from "Bridgerton."
They portray a mother and daughter in Bernard Shaw’s moral classic.
The story revolves around Vivie Warren, a progressive woman, and her mother, Mrs Warren, who has amassed a fortune by exploiting the patriarchal order.
The production, filmed from the West End, is directed by Dominic Cooke and explores the clash between morality and independence, traditions, and progress.
It will be screened on Friday, October 24 at 1.30pm and Tuesday, October 28 at 5pm.
The second play, "Fifth Step," will be screened on Friday, November 28 at 8pm and Tuesday, December 2 at 5pm.
This critically acclaimed and subversively funny new play by David Ireland features Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden and Emmy and BAFTA-winner Martin Freeman.
The plot follows James, a long-time member of Alcoholics Anonymous, who becomes a sponsor to newcomer Luka.
As they bond over black coffee and shared experiences, a fragile friendship forms.
However, as Luka approaches step five, the moment of confession, dangerous truths emerge, threatening the trust on which both of their recoveries depend.
The production, filmed live from Soho Place in London’s West End, is directed by Finn den Hertog.
