A group of 30 local young people are gearing up for an intensive theatre programme.

The programme will culminate in six performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat YOUTH at the Theatre Royal Windsor.

This talented group of 12 to 17-year-olds are musical theatre enthusiasts.

The young actors have previously appeared in a variety of school, community, and professional productions.

Elliott Marsden, a 14-year-old from Windsor Boys’ School, will take on the lead role of Joseph.

Elliott is no stranger to the stage, having already played Eric in Matilda the Musical in the West End and Gad in a UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Hannah Victoria-Bennett, who began her professional career as a child performer in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, will direct and choreograph the production.

Hannah first appeared in Joseph at the age of seven and continued to tour local theatres, including the Theatre Royal Windsor and the West End with the production until she was 13.

Now, she returns to bring her favourite show to life once more.

Growing up in Wraysbury, Hannah has built an impressive career since graduating from London Studio Centre.

She has toured Europe in Chicago, been part of the ensemble in Singin’ in the Rain (Adelphi Theatre), and performed on cruise ships and in pantomimes around the country, including at the Theatre Royal Windsor.

Hannah expressed her excitement at the opportunity to work with the young cast, saying: "Being part of the touring and West End casts of Joseph as a child gave me the drive to pursue musical theatre as a career.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this talented group of young people and hope to support and inspire them as they develop their skills and pursue their aspirations."

The Theatre Royal Windsor has a strong commitment to working within the local community.

Many of the cast members have participated in previous youth productions and the theatre’s LAMDA classes.

Registration is currently open for anyone aged 16 and above for the theatre’s community production of We Will Rock You in August.

The Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat youth production will run from Wednesday, April 8 to Saturday, April 11.

Tickets range from £20 to £26 and can be purchased from the theatre's website or by calling the box office on 01753 853888.

Theatre Royal Windsor has built a reputation for its productions and its ability to attract top-tier talent to its stage, solidifying its position as one of Britain’s leading regional theatres.
