A man's death is "unexplained, but not suspicious", say police after a major emergency response to a 'fear for welfare' incident outside a Berks station.

At around 7.50pm on April 7, Thames Valley Police (TVP) was called to Maidenhead Railway Station amid concern for a man in his fifties.

The Maidenhead Advertiser reported that there were "three police cars and two ambulances" at the scene, along with "a vehicle diverting traffic".

The man was taken to hospital and was pronounced dead.

A spokesperson for TVP stated: "His death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner.

"His next of kin have been informed."
