SLOUGH On The Mic returns this month, bringing a fresh line-up of local talent to The Curve.
Open to audiences aged 16 and over, the evening will feature a mix of music, rap, comedy, poetry and dance on Friday, May 22, starting at 7pm.
A spokesperson for the event said: "Slough On The Mic is more than a typical open mic.
"It gives performers the chance to step onto a professional stage and make their mark.
"With a full technical team, state-of-the-art sound and theatre lighting, every act is given the platform their talent truly deserves."
Performers range from newcomers making their stage debut to more seasoned artists.
The event is designed to nurture talent at every level and help individuals develop their stage presence.
Each performance is met with enthusiasm from the audience, creating what organisers have described as an 'electric but supportive' atmosphere.
The spokesperson said: "Every voice is celebrated. Every performance is met with energy and encouragement."
The most recent event in March featured 17 acts, including Slough-based comedian Philip Reiss and singer-songwriter Zeth Rocks.
The May line-up will include Mohammed Bilal Gaj, a writer, screenwriter, poet and actor who uses poetry as a form of activism, often addressing political themes with humour and irony.
The event is hosted in partnership with StoryDen, Slough Music Service, Beat Routes, and Together As One.
All four organisations aim to empower young people through music, creativity and engagement with the wider community.
Slough On The Mic is part of a larger programme to develop The Curve as a key arts hub for the town.
This programme is delivered in partnership between Norden Farm Centre for the Arts and Slough Borough Council, with support from Arts Council England.
The event will continue throughout the summer, with additional dates confirmed for June 26, July 24 and August 14.
Tickets are priced at £3 and are available via the Curve Venue website or by calling the box office on 01753 303035.
Those interested in performing can register on the website by clicking the ‘sign up here’ button.
Organisers describe the event as an opportunity for audiences to experience emerging talent and for performers to gain valuable stage time.
Each night aims to celebrate the creativity, diversity and energy of Slough’s artistic community in a professional but accessible environment.
Slough On The Mic is open to anyone aged 16 or above and offers an evening of entertainment that supports artists.
