A talent show lit up the stage of a local theatre earlier this month.

The Old Court Theatre in Windsor was buzzing with excitement as contestants showcased their skills at Berkshire’s Got Talent, an event created by Preeti and Shona, a mother-daughter duo.

The show took place on Saturday, May 9, and featured a range of performances from singers, dancers, and comedians, drawing families and community members into the lively atmosphere.

The event was marked by a variety of acts, with the Dhol Drummers from Dhol Collective taking home the first prize after a performance that got the entire audience dancing.

Judges praised the 'exceptional variety and quality' of the performances, highlighting the event as one of Windsor’s most inspiring community celebrations.

The diverse acts, from heartfelt solos to energetic group numbers, represented the depth of talent across Berkshire.

For many performers, the night marked their debut on a professional stage, a milestone made possible by the vision of Preeti and Shona.

The show concluded with a standing ovation for all participants, setting the stage for what promises to be an anticipated annual tradition.

The journey of Berkshire’s Got Talent began as a spark of creativity in Shona’s mind, which was then developed into a full-scale community showcase with Preeti's expertise.

Under their Dance Drama Production banner, the duo founded and directed the event, transforming a shared dream into a lively platform for performers of all ages.

Preeti, who has spent the last five years teaching dance to both children and adults, was involved in every aspect of the event, from scriptwriting and editing to technology and media.

She also played a crucial role in guiding performers from their first rehearsal to their final bow.

Shona, with her innovative thinking, worked closely with her mother to ensure the show maintained a fresh, modern, and inclusive identity.

The duo’s mission was clear from the start: to uplift local talent, provide a stage for every generation, and create a space where creativity could thrive without barriers.

Saturday night’s event proved that this mission was not only achieved but embraced by the community.
