A theatre group is dedicating its summer production to a beloved member who died last year.

Iver Heath Drama Club is honouring John Williams, its late president and long-time performer, with a tribute performance.

Mr Williams, from Slough, died in December 2025 at the age of 67 after living with Parkinson’s disease.

He was a member of the club for around 30 years.

Carol Campling, club treasurer, said: "John was our club president for several years, so it feels perfectly fitting that we dedicate our summer show to him, in his memory."

The club will stage Return to Hotel Doom on June 13, a comedy sequel that holds special meaning as Mr Williams starred in the original Hotel Doom production 10 years ago.

Lee Hall, the play’s author and director, said: "John appeared as Major Horseradish in the original Hotel Doom play a decade ago.

"His kindness offstage and his impeccable comedy timing are fond memories we all treasure."

Mr Williams’ widow, Joanna Williams, who first met him at the drama club around 25 years ago, was invited to take on the role of Club President earlier this year in his honour.

The tribute evening will double as a fundraiser for the Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead branch of Parkinson’s UK, with donations encouraged through the programme and an interval screen.

The charity supports people living with Parkinson’s and funds research into new treatments.

Tickets for the performance are available at www.ticketsource.co.uk/ihdc.
