Cheaper bus passes are to be introduced for young people in Windsor and Maidenhead.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has launched a limited-time scheme offering discounted travel for students living in the borough aged 18 and under, with up to £100 off annual or term bus passes purchased before Friday, August 28.
The scheme applies to passes on Carousel and Thames Valley Buses and aims to support families while promoting sustainable travel.
Geoff Hill, cabinet member for highways, customer services, libraries and IT at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, said: "I’m so pleased to launch this new promotion in the Royal Borough, working together with our bus operators to directly benefit young people in the borough, and their families.
"It’s a great way to save money as well ahead of the next school year, and a fantastic way to explore our towns and villages."
Applications for the discount must be made by a parent or guardian via email.
Successful applicants will receive a discount code or payment link to purchase the reduced pass.
Codes are limited and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis to verified residents.

Luke Marion, managing director of Carousel Buses, said: "The partnership between the council and local bus operators is very strong and has delivered significant improvements.
"The bus network is already seeing encouraging levels of usage from school pupils and we’re hopeful that this promotion will help encourage even more children to catch the bus this summer and for the 2026/27 academic year."
Bus travel has continued to grow in the borough, with 1.5 million journeys recorded in 2024-25, surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time, according to a report by the Department of Transport late last year.
Simon Fisher, general manager of Thames Valley Buses, said: "We are pleased to be working with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead’s initiative to launch heavily discounted school term passes to help ease the return-to-school financial burden.
"Reliable, affordable transport is vital for young people, and these discounted passes ensure that students can travel to school, college, and extracurricular activities safely without breaking the household budget."
Parents or guardians must email publictransport@rbwm.gov.uk before 5pm on Friday, August 28.
The email should include the parent or guardian’s name, the child’s name, preferred email, the chosen bus operator, and either a council tax reference number or other proof of residence.
