A new adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre will be performed at Theatre Royal Windsor later this year.

Staged by Conn Artists Theatre Company in association with Theatre Royal Winchester, the production will run from Tuesday, September 15 to Saturday, September 19.

Evie Depledge stars as Jane, with Ross Muir taking on the role of Rochester.

Nick Young, director of the production, said: "Jane Eyre remains astonishingly modern.

"It is a story about identity, courage and refusing to surrender your sense of self.

"We want audiences to feel they are inside the story - sharing Jane’s fears, hopes and fierce determination."

The adaptation is co-written by Mr Muir and Mr Young, with Mr Muir also composing much of the production’s original music.

Mr Muir said: "I love the character of Jane and what she stands for; she has so much integrity and bravely makes difficult choices.

"Jane Eyre will appeal not only to fans of the novel but to anyone who enjoys an inspiring love story that offers hope."

Directed by Mr Young, this marks his seventh production with Conn Artists.

The national tour of Jane Eyre is produced in association with Play to the Crowd and will open at Theatre Royal Winchester on September 2 before heading to Windsor and other venues.

Jane Eyre will be performed at Theatre Royal Windsor with evening shows at 7.30pm and matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets are priced between £24.50 and £39.50 and can be booked by calling the box office on 01753 853888 or visiting the theatre’s website.

Theatre Royal Windsor, located at 32 Thames Street, is the only unsubsidised producing theatre to operate year-round in the country, boasting a 200-year history.

Operating as part of Bill Kenwright Limited, the theatre has gained a reputation for the quality of its productions and is one of Britain’s leading regional theatres.

The touring production promises passion, mystery, humour, and heart.
