Six shops in Slough High Street which were divided up without planning permission have been given permission to remain – while a former office building could become eight new flats.

Elsewhere, a family home could be transformed into supported living accommodation under the latest planning applications submitted to Slough Borough Council.

Here are three of the latest planning applications submitted to the council.

Six shops approved in Slough High Street

A commercial unit in Mosaic House, Slough High Street, has been allowed to remain divided into six smaller shops despite the work having been carried out without planning permission.

The ground-floor space was previously occupied by a supermarket and hair salon.

Work to divide it into six units began in September 2024 and was completed in March this year.

Four of the six units were already occupied when property company 2EE26 Slough applied for retrospective permission in June.

The premises are currently home to a vape store and an estate agent.

The application said the businesses showed the subdivision had been successful in bringing previously vacant retail space back into use.

It added that the previous large unit had been empty for a "considerable period" because of the difficulty of finding businesses willing to occupy such a large retail premises.

Planning officers have now approved the retrospective application, meaning the six units can remain.

The application can be viewed on Slough Borough Council's planning portal using reference **P/19000/001**.

Former offices could become eight flats

A former office building in Herschel Park could be converted into eight flats.

Commercial Invest Limited has applied to convert the two-storey building at 9-10 Shaftesbury Court.

The building formed part of a wider development which was historically made up of offices, although several of the buildings have since been converted for residential use.

The property stopped being used as an office in 2024.

Under the proposals, it would be converted into two two-bedroom flats and six one-bedroom flats.

The plans include 10 parking spaces for residents.

The applicant describes the scheme as a "modest and proportionate adaptation" of the existing building.

The application has not yet been decided.

It can be viewed on the council's planning portal using reference **P/00262/022**.

Family home could become supported living accommodation

A five-bedroom family home in Slough could be converted into supported living accommodation for adults who need help to live independently.

The application, submitted by Gabriel Rwamba, relates to a property on Trent Road.

Under the proposals, residents would live together and share the property's kitchen, living room and conservatory.

The house currently has five bedrooms, but one would be removed to make space for two additional en-suite bathrooms, leaving four bedrooms.

The application says the property could accommodate people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health conditions who require some day-to-day support.

It could also be used as rehabilitation accommodation for people recovering from substance misuse or mental health conditions.

Support would be provided by an independent care company and arranged separately for each resident.

No carers would live at the property permanently. Instead, staff would attend when required.

The application has not yet been decided.

It can be viewed on the council's planning portal using reference **P/11045/004**.
