106 e-bikes and one knife have been seized in a police crackdown in Reading and other towns, as three people were arrested.

Thames Valley Police said that over the last week alone, more than 100 electric motorbikes and e-scooters were seized from streets, parks and public spaces.

One incident even saw police officers follow a quadbike back to a home address to seize it from the rider.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police's roads policing taskforce said: "Do you have an electric motorbike or e-scooter that's being ridden illegally? We’ll take it off you.

"These vehicles are often linked to dangerous riding, anti-social behaviour, and other criminal activity, causing concern in our communities across the Thames Valley.

"Our team have access to cars, motorbikes, and off-road bikes so we can pursue offenders and tackle this criminality often in places inaccessible to conventional police vehicles.

"Our message is simple: if you're using these vehicles illegally, expect police action."
