The people of Chalvey are being invited to give their views in person on what sort of community hub they would like to see.

Detailed plans are being drawn up to create a new Chalvey Hub to replace the existing Community Centre on the Green which will be knocked down and rebuilt closer to the main road.

The new hub will have a nursery and library service. But it could also include meeting rooms, adult education facilities, space for community groups, function space for hire, a community kitchen, IT facilities, a base for community services, a customer service point and self service payment machines.

Residents are invited to come along next week to a series of sessions at Chalvey's current community centre to discuss the plans for the new building and talk about the type of services they would like to see there.

The sessions are next week on Tuesday, February 6 between 2.30pm and 6pm (open to all but specifically the Roma community - a translator will be present), Wednesday, February 7 between 3pm and 8pm and Friday, February 9 between 9am and 4pm.

The Chalvey Hub is being paid for by the Department for Education (DfE) as part of its funding for a new school on the site. The council will ‘top up’ this funding to create a larger space than the existing building.
