A driver who died when his car crashed into a tree near a dangerous junction had heroin, cocaine and three times the legal amount of alcohol in his system an inquest heard today.
Steven McOuat, 50, a cable engineer living at the Old Huntercombe pub in Slough died when his Vauxhall Tigra crashed into an oak tree in Village Road, Dorney at about 10.30pm on Sunday, October 1 - near the Olympic rowing lake and historic Dorney Court.
An autopsy revealed the alcohol and drugs in his system. He died from mutliple injuries.
Forensic investigator Tony Reading said: "It is quite surprising he got as far as he did. Any one of those factors would have impaired his driving. He made a series of bad choices - driving, driving after drinking and taking drugs and not wearing a seat belt."
The coroner recorded that Mr McOuat died as a result of a road traffic collison.
