A man from Slough has been jailed for three years after stealing jewellery, cash, a safe and a BMW from two homes.

Mickey Smith, 33, of Sutton Lane, Slough was one of three men sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday for burglaries committed in Maidenhead and Woodley last March 8.

He and Paddy Cronin, 23, of Hook, - who also received a three year sentence - had pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit burglary.

A third man Thomas Small, 27, of Paices Hill, Aldermaston got three and a half years.

The defendants had bought a VW Golf on March 7 last year - using it to commit the two burglaries on the evening of March 8 stealing jewellery, cash, a safe and a BMW from the family homes they attacked.

Investigating officer DC Barry Johns, of Loddon Valley CID, said: "We are committed to tirelessly pursuing offenders.

"Convicting these burglars will help to protect our residents from the distress and loss that these offences cause.

"I would like to thank everyone involved in the case, including the victims and witnesses who have supported this successful prosecution."
