SLOUGH Amateur Boxing Club star Kaileb Appleton has become the Home Counties Champion after a win against Lennon Swords.

Appleton, 12, had beaten Swords before, and has now progressed into the National Schoolboy Championships quarter finals.

Marsden-based Swords felt the National Championships were the perfect setting to avenge the loss from earlier this year.

However, it was not to be as Appleton completely dominated the fight throughout, even bloodying his opponents nose.

The Slough ace used excellent straight rights and a powerful jab, one of which almost knocked Swords through the ropes.

Appleton will now take on the Eastern Counties Champion in the quarter finals on May 16.
