SLOUGH Town have confirmed the signing of Louie Soares from Hungerford Town ahead of the new National League South season.

Soares, 33, is a versatile midfielder who can play in an attacking position either out wide or centrally.

He joins The Rebels having won the Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Year Awards at Hungerford last season. He also won their Golden Boot having scored 14 goals in 49 appearances.

The experienced Barbadian began his career at Reading without making an appearance for the first team at the Madejski Stadium, before moving to Bristol Rovers and then Barnet.

Soares enjoyed enjoyed four years at Aldershot Town between 2006 and 2010, where he made 147 appearances and scored 17 goals.

During that time he won two international caps for Barbados, scoring one goal - the first Aldershot player to be capped while playing for the club.

Soars will be well known to a number of Slough players having played in the Basingstoke Town team that reached the play-offs in National League South. He made 74 appearances and scored eight goals for the club between 2013-17.
