FARNHAM Royal suffered their fourth defeat this season after a 135-run loss away at Bagshot in Division 3A on Saturday.

The Royals won the coin toss and invited their hosts to bat first, Bagshot declaring on 250-9 off 51 overs.

Number eight Jack Sutherland top-scored with 65 runs and put on 73 for the ninth wicket with captain Adam Passfield (9*).

Brad Passfield made 43 runs at number six, after opener Jack Grinstead (30) and Chris Hollely (40) added 53 for the third wicket.

Joe Masih was the best of the Farnham bowlers with figures of 3-41 from 11 overs, which included the wicket of Hollely.

Harry Barton had both Grinstead and Sutherland caught in his 3-77, while Rohan Agrawal chipped in with 2-64.

The Royals managed just 115 all out off 38.1 overs in response but remain in fifth position in the league table despite the defeat.

Captain Nigel Field top-scored with 35 runs, but only Masih (26) plus openers Eshwar Dutta (25) and David Morgans (14) could also reach double figures.

Sutherland was the chief destroyer for Bagshot with his eight-wicket-haul (8-38) from 15 overs. He was backed up by Alex Dunnage (1-14) and Matt Pettet (1-33).

Farnham Royal return to Church Road for the visit of seventh-placed Harefield 2s this Saturday (1pm).

Datchet 2s are now bottom in Division 3B following their 73-run defeat at Chiswick & Whitton last weekend.

Chiswick & Whitton won the toss and elected to bat first, reaching 222 runs all out off 50.4 overs.

Opener Aman Chopra (40) and captain Harpreet Bhatia (39) top-scored for the home side, while James Dick led the Datchet bowling attack with figures of 4-69 from 17 overs.

The visitors managed just 149 all out from 34 overs with Tom Jones (33) the top scorer.
