THE summer track season saw Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club consolidate its position as one of the top clubs in the United kingdom.

WSEH finished in fifth place in the Women’s League and sixth in Division One of the Men’s British League, the same position gained by the combined team in the Young Athletes League Under-17/20 Southern Premier Division.

There were also good performances in the Alder Valley League with the girls finishing in second place and the boys fifth.

The one dark spot was 5th place in the Youth Development League U13/15 Southern Premier Division which resulted in relegation into Division Two next season.

WSEH produced a number of individual international athletes. In the Commonwealth Games in Australia, four club athletes competed; Morgan Lake (high jump), Shelayna Oskan-Clarke (800m), Rachel Wallader (shot) and Ben Reynolds (110m hurdles).

Lake (high jump) and Megan Harris (100m hurdles) were both selected for the Great Britain team at the World Cup competition in London.

In the World U23 Championships in Finland, Jake Norris was the gold medal winner in the hammer, with Bayley Campbell also selected for the event. Alex Haydock-Wilson collected bronze award in the 4x400m relay.

Lake (high jump) and Oskan-Clarke (800m) both represented GB at the European Championships in Berlin, while Zac Curran (800m) and Kerry O’Flaherty (3,000m steeplechase) gained selection for Ireland.

National champions at senior level were Lake (high jump) and Jacob Paul (400m hurdles), while Lake and Amy Holder (discus) took the plaudits at U20 level.

There were three national champions at U20 level - Norris (hammer), Sam Challis (long jump) and Alex Barbour (3,000m steeplechase).
