BRAZILIAN jujutsu prodigy Ilyas Chaudhery has won three gold medals at the Junior World Championships and three at the European Junior Championships.

Chaudhery, aged seven, remained undefeated on the Brazilian jujutsu competition circuit after a successful run throughout the year.

He had already made a name for himself by claiming both the British and European titles, plus becoming the North American Grappling Association champion.

Chaudhery has been training hard with his coach, Professor Elias Moreria, at Icon Jujutsu, a well-established club whose main head coach, Professor Ze Marcello, is a former world champion.

Icon Jujutsu has produced many champions in the adult arena and replicated that in the younger sections by having a brilliant coach in Elias Moreria. He is very passionate and motivates his students to bring the best out of them.

Chaudhery was placed in two categories at the European Championships where the opposition was physically much better than him, plus having to handle the pressure of stepping onto the mat with so many people watching.

But, he managed to win both divisions outright by forcing all of his opposition into submission.

The following day, he competed in the NoGi World Championships and again won his division outright to take the gold medal.

Chaudhery practises his NoGi skills at the well-established BlackBeard MMA in Slough where his coach, Nomaan Khalid, drills various techniques to make sure he is ready for competition.

Chaudhery has started boxing with the Slough-based Kayani Camp Boxing Club where the coaches help him with his fitness and endurance as he develops his skills.

He finishes up with a wrestling session to develop the foundation of his ground game.

Chaudhery would like to thank his sponsors; AWCI Ltd, Results driving school, Comfort Care Homes and Blackbeard MMA.
